Bijan Youssefzadeh was born in Tehran, Iran. He studied Architecture in Europe before receiving a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. He returned there to teach after he received a Master of Architecture from Cornell University, where he was a teaching
assistant in the Department of Architecture.
Youssefzadeh’s teaching spans over four decades in the United States and Europe. In addition to teaching full-time at UT-Arlington, he has been a guest professor at Texas A&M university, University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Syracuse University, and Lund University in Sweden.
He has maintained an active practice in the DFW Metropolitan area since 1984 and is currently collaborating, as a housing consultant, with Metropolis Architecture in Los Angeles, California.
